Oh, this may be a plus or minus, depending on how you look at it, but I consider it a plus. The noise reduction of chroma (color) noise works reasonably well and the. Despite its shortcomings, I do 99.9% of my processing with DxO. The philosophy behind DxO Optics Pro differs from the other RAW converters. It's also missing a way to add watermark, which was promised two-years ago. You can now select an area for "Spot" lighting adjustment, but it adjusts all areas of the image with the same color/brightness characteristic. Strip away any noise that is there because of a high-ISO shot or even noise that’s been enhanced by pre-sharpening. The idea is that we start with an image that’s as sharp as it can be.

This new technology uses machine learning AI to apply impressive noise reduction during raw photo import. DxO's PRIME noise reduction is world class. DxO has been giving away Optics Pro once or twice a year for a while, but its always been 2 versions behind.
